How it works
Four minutes of setup. Then it just runs.
No system to maintain, no list to keep tidy. You tell Pocket Elf once who matters, and it does the remembering from there.
01
Add the people who matter
Type a name and a date, or just tell me about them out loud. Most people start with five or six and add more over the following weeks as they remember.
- Talk or type — whichever is faster
- Add a relationship so suggestions make sense
- Nothing is shared with the person you add
02
Tell us a little about them
A few interests, a rough budget, and what you gave last time. This is the part that turns a generic reminder into a useful one — and it gets sharper each year as you record what actually landed.
- Two or three interests is enough to start
- Budget stays private and filters suggestions
- Past gifts are remembered so you don't repeat
03
Get told early, not the night before
Two weeks ahead by default, adjustable up to four. Long enough to order something, have it delivered, and wrap it — instead of paying for express shipping and hoping.
- Different lead times for different people
- A second nudge closer to the day
- Reminders follow your local time when you travel
04
Pick something and get on with your life
Three specific suggestions, each with a reason it fits and a link. Take one, or save your own idea to the shortlist and it'll be waiting there next year.
- Three ideas, not a catalogue of two hundred
- Save your own ideas alongside ours
- Mark it as given and we close the loop
