Getting started
How long does setup actually take?
About four minutes for a handful of people. You add a name, a date, and a couple of things they're into — talking is faster than typing, and either works.
Do I have to fill in interests?
No. Without them you still get reminders and general suggestions. Interests are what turn a generic idea into one that lands, so most people add them gradually rather than all at once.
Does it work if I only care about five people?
Yes. Five people or fifty, it's the same price — $0.99 a month or $9.99 a year. Your first three ideas are free, so you'll know whether it's worth it before you pay.
Reminders
How far in advance will you tell me?
Two weeks by default. On the paid plan you can set anything up to four weeks, and different lead times for different people — more warning for your partner, less for a colleague.
What if I miss the notification?
We send a second one closer to the date, and the upcoming list lives on the home screen so nothing depends on catching a single push.
Do reminders work across time zones?
Yes. Reminders fire in your local time, and travelling doesn't shift or duplicate them.
Gift ideas
Where do the suggestions come from?
From what you've told us about the person — their interests, past gifts, and your budget — matched against a curated catalogue. It isn't a generic bestseller list.
Are these affiliate links?
Some are, and those are labelled. Suggestions are picked on fit first; we'd rather you buy the right thing somewhere we earn nothing than the wrong thing somewhere we do.
Can I add my own ideas?
Yes. Save your own shortlist against a person and it'll be waiting next year, along with a record of what you already gave.
Privacy
What do you do with information about my family?
It stays in your account and is used only to generate your reminders and suggestions. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to train models.
The people I add haven't agreed to this.
True, and we take that seriously. We store the minimum needed — a name, a date, a few interests — never contact details you haven't entered yourself, and you can delete any person and their data instantly.
Can I get everything deleted?
Yes. Delete your account under Settings and everything goes with it. You can also export a copy first.
